President Ghani stresses acceleration of aid delivery to drought affected families

KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, a meeting was held for coordination of humanitarian aids to counter drought in the country.
In the meeting held yesterday at Presidential Palace with participation of representatives and officials of international organizations including UN, first report in connection with ongoing aid delivery process to drought affected people was delivered by relevant institutions.
They said that they in coordination with ministries of agriculture and livestock and rural rehabilitation and development would make effort to provide urgent aids to people affected by natural incidents and work on aid delivery plan.
After hearing the report, the country’s President said that aids that have been delivered to flood and drought affected people were not sufficient.
He stressed that mechanism in connection with aids to affected people should be changed, asking the international organizations to prepare urgent and precize aid delivery plan.
