Peace Afghans’ dire need, Rabbani

KABUL: Acting chairwoman of the UN agency in Afghanistan, Ms. Engred Headen, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salahuddin Rabbani called holding of the parliamentary and presidential elections important for the stability of Afghanistan, BNA reported Friday.
The acting minister also insisted on trust-building and the people participation in the upcoming process, and said a transparent election was a guarantee for the country’s political, security and economic stability and evaluated the responsibility of the electoral monitoring institutions very important, the agency added.
The acting minister also spoke about peace and described it a dire need of the Afghans, if it demonstrates the Afghan people consensus, the agency said.
