President flays terrorist attack in Nangarhar

KABUL: A statement from The Presidential Press Office, quoting President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, on Tuesday strongly condemned the latest terrorist attack in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar, where a number of innocents were killed or injured.
The statement said while the country’s president is in an official visit to Brussels to attend the NATO member countries’ leaders conference, has expressed his regret over the recent incident and said: “The enemies of Afghanistan, by launching such crimes want to overshadow our efforts for the peace process, but they should know that they can’t reach their targets and we will not retreat from our priorities,” said the country’s president as quoted by the statement from the Kabul based press office.
He said that a consensus has been made at the national, regional and international level for peace and stability in Afghanistan and the Afghanistan peace related OIC conference going on in Jaddah of the Saudi Arabia indicates the government of Afghanistan has been committed for restoring peace and stability of the country based on these consensuses.
The president instructed the related organs for immediate help of the recovery of the wounded and providing aids for the families of those killed in the incident.
