4 contracts worth over 1 billion Afs approved

KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, National Procurement Commission’s session was held yesterday at presidential palace.
In the session, nine procurement cases were reviewed and as a result four contracts worth more than 1 billion Afghani were approved.
The four contracts that were approved are ‘contract project belonging to independent civil aviation authority for maintenance of satellites (VSAT) for space control, contract project belonging to ministry of telecommunication and information technology for connection of optic fiber from areas in Aqina to Torghundi with capacity of 16 STM by state to state contract, contract project for registration private and government domains under suffix (af) for three years and contract project for procurement of 50% first-line medicines for treatment of TB and diagnosis packages for TB National Program.
Meanwhile, suggestion for approving the start of processing construction project of Ghazni provincial hospital was approved by the commission.
Besides, suggestion for granting the contract project of extension electricity from Gul Bahar – Panjshir and Panjshir substation as well as suggestion for modifying a contract (extension of time without price increase) construction project of Pozalich hydropower electricity in Ghor were reviewed and approved.
Discussing the project, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani asserted that the project was aimed to bring light to homes of the people of Ghor, instructed ministry of water and energy to completely review the project and deliver alternative ways in order to increase electricity to the people of this province. In the session, national procurement authority deliver structures of assessment of contractors’ previous executions to members of the commission, which was praised by the country’s President.
President Ghani tasked ministries of finance and economy to review the structures and deliver their visions to national procurement authority because this help clarify expenditure of budget and payment could be followed on time.
