Peace in Afghanistan in regional countries’ interest, Chinese Ambassador

KABUL: First Vice-President, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador, Lu Jing sung, called China, the most important country in global deals and world and regional economic development, BNA reported the other day.
The first vice-president said that the people of China had historical and friendly relations with the Afghan people and the relations were still expanding, the agency quoted.
The first vice-president, according to the agency, also noted that the people’s Republic of China, besides providing economic cooperation with the people of Afghanistan and taking part in megaprojects, can play active role in peace restoration in the country.
Meanwhile, Chinese ambassador assured of his country’s continued cooperation with the government and people of Afghanistan, the agency added.
“Peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of all regional countries and we hope peace restored in Afghanistan and would cooperate in this area,” said the ambassador as quoted by the government run agency.
According to another report, earlier the country’s first vice-president met with Indian ambassador and discussed some issues related to the two countries relations and the ongoing regional matters.
Gen. Dostum called India as a close friend of Afghanistan which stood alongside the people of Afghanistan during hard conditions and that India was effective in reconstruction and rehabilitation processes of Afghanistan.
He reminded that tens of Afghan youths were going to India for higher education, but hoped the scholarships increased hereinafter.
Indian Ambassador, also assured of his country’s economic, technical and cultural cooperation with the people of Afghanistan.
