‘High-level Chinese delegation to visit Kabul soon’

KABUL: National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar met Chinese Ambassador Liu Jingson here the other day, the National Security Council spokesman Qader Shah said.
A high level Chinese delegation is visiting Kabul in near future for talks with Afghan officials on bilateral cooperation, the country’s envoy said on Thursday.
The two sides discussed expansion of bilateral relations, with NSA Atmar praising China’s sincere efforts for regional peace and development.
Ambassador Liu Jingson said his country supported an Afghan-led and owned peace process and reconciliation efforts. The envoy reiterated commitment his county was ready to support Afghanistan in counter-terrorism efforts.
The NSA thanked the leadership of Chinese government for providing assistance to Afghanistan in various sectors and termed China’s role in political, economic and social development of the region as significant.
Liu said his country was ready to dispatch a high-level delegation to Afghanistan to discuss expansion in bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries.
The envoy added the delegation would discuss the Afghan peace process and would reaffirm commitment to counter-terrorism efforts and implementation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organizations (SCO)’s commitments.
According to another report, NSA Atmar met Egyptian Ambassador to Afghanistan Hani Salah , where the envoy has reaffirmed his country’s assistance to Afghanistan in areas of higher education, Islamic studies and prevention of fundamentalism, a statement from the National Security Council (NSC) said on Wednesday.
The two sides have discussed the ongoing state of extremism and fundamentalism and stressed over the halt of unfortunate incidents.
NSA Atmar hailed the role of Egyptian government and people in bring down the level of fundamentalism and appreciated their efforts and commitment.The NSA also thanked the leadership of Egyptian government for providing scholarship for Afghan students.
The envoy reiterated commitment that his country was ready to support Afghanistan in higher education, Islamic education and counter-terrorism efforts.Salah offered special assistance to Afghan-led, owned peace process and reconciliation efforts.
