Kabul Cultural Week marked

KABUL: The Kabul Cultural Week was marked by the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) in the historic Babur Shah Garden, Bakthar News Agency said Saturday.
The ceremony was attended by the deputies and directors of the Ministry of Information and Culture, presidential advisor, Abdul Ghafoor Liwal and a number of government authorities and the country’s cultural figures, said the agency.
At the outset, Hasina Safi, the acting and nominee minister of information and culture spoke about the Kabul Cultural Week and said the main aim of holding the cultural week was further introduction of the country’s noble culture, which was first held in Parwan province and some other provinces like Nangarhar, Ghazni, Khost and Kapisa provinces, the agency quoted.
She said marking the cultural week is held in the Babur Garden, Timur Shahi Park, Women Garden, Khairkhana and Microrayan 1 Parks and would continue until Asad 25 (solar year).
According to her, during the cultural week, paintings, calligraphy, drawing, book, photos from the Mis-e-Ainak relics, handicrafts, agricultural products, relics of the National Museum and Archeology directorate, would be displayed.
The acting minister also thanked the Kabul Mayor, other ministries and the related institutions for their cooperation with the process of marking the cultural week. Former minister of information and culture, Sayed Makhdoom Raheen was one of the speaker at the ceremony, where he described Kabul a time slapped city and the city of tragedy, the people of which are still mourning. He asked the ministry of information and culture, Kabul municipality and UNESCO to do more for helping to lodge the Kabul city’s historical relics in the World Cultural Heritages list.
