HPC insists on intra-Afghan peace dialogue

KABUL: Chaired by Mohammad Karim Khalili, the chairman of High Peace Council (HPC) said that peace process should be led and owned by the Afghans, Bakhtar News Agency reported Saturday.
The meeting which was attended by Mohammad Akram Khpulwak, secretary of the HPC, president’s special representatives for political affairs, deputies and members of HPC, expressed support to the president’s conditional ceasefire and called the truce as the best way of trust-building, said the agency.
Emphasizing on an intra-Afghan peace talks, Mohammad Karim Khalili thanked some countries for their efforts and cooperation to accelerate peace process between the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban movement, according to the source.
