Public support of ANDSF a must
Having assumed full responsibility for national security in December 2014, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) had displayed commitment to the nation and the constitution through immense sacrifices, thereby earning unprecedented public support and trust.
Feb 28th has been registered as the day of Afghan national security, defense forces. The goal behind this is to create an opportunity to appreciate and celebrate epics, devotions, sacrifices and ultimately ANDSF values in our Islamic system in one hand and discuss ways of achieving peace, stability and essential conditions for law enforcement, the needs for implementation of those goals be distinguished and plans and policies be made for removal of current problems.
According to president Ghani, in the last three years, our ANDSF have ensured and guaranteed survival of our Islamic system, who have spared no effort and devotion and sacrifices towards our country’s stability and security, rule of law and performed their jobs day and night under insupportable conditions in summer and winter in remote areas sincerely and decisively.
The bloodstained martyrs of ANDSF have offered their sweet lives for prosperity of our people. Realizing all these devotions, the National Unity Government have been endeavoring to supply all essential logistic and military equipment of security forces and pave the way for their welfare and prosperity.
In recent years, due to corruption in government procurement system, certain failures appeared in ANDSF needs, but since the establishment of National ProcurementCommission, these shortages were relatively removed, and the rest is hopedto be tackled in the future, particularly those who are potentially in the trenches and battlefields.
With the establishment of democratic administration, peace has been the highest national priority and Afghan officials sought tirelessly to get warring factions to join peace process and stop violence and bloodshed. However, the Taliban persisted in their indiscriminate killings and spilling the blood of combatants and non-combatants alike. They turned the Afghan’s peace offering down. Through continuing the tug of war, the Taliban left no room for negotiation and no trust to resume it.
Democracy is not gained without sacrifices. If we consider the democratic societies, people sacrificed their lives and blood to ensure democracy for their nation. Similarly, Afghan people need to devote their lives so as to invest for gaining democracy.
It is hoped that the precious lives and blood of our soldiers will not go in vain rather they will ensure peace and stability for the nation, if not now, in the future. Whenever negotiation is proved abortive, blood will be the only remedy to protect the rights and dignity of a nation.
Our selfless soldiers, who sacrifice their lives for protecting their nation and country, are not dead. They are alive in national memory and are considered national heroes since they play heroic role.
Public support of ANDSF is a must too and is indeed a frank reality that one cannot underestimate or ignore it, because without this support their survival is impossible.
