NSA chairs meeting on elections security

 KABUL: Chaired by National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, a meeting was held Saturday to discuss security of parliamentary and district councils’ elections.
In the meeting attended by IEC chairman and security officials, report of security organs in connection with maintaining the security of elections process was reviewed and necessary decisions and instructions were issued to security and defense organs.
In the session, senior security and defense officials said that it was determined that by launching military and clearing operations ways would be soon paved for transparent elections in the country.
National security advisor while praising the country’s defense and security organs for necessary coordination asked senior officials of security and defense organs to jointly assess all voting centers and pay further attention to maintaining security of the centers.
  Meanwhile, the country’s security and defense organs were tasked to finalize a regular plan in connection with maintaining security of the elections process as soon as possible and submit it to national security advisor office.
