HEC approves Afghanistan National Exports Strategy

 KABUL: Presided over by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani,  the High Economic Council’s (HEC) session was held yesterday to discuss Afghanistan national exports strategy, plan on creating national big tax-payers office and plan for investment of Rawan Motors’ Company.  In the session held at Chahar Chenar Palace of Arg, first Afghanistan national exports strategy delivered by ministry of commerce and industries was discussed.  Pointing to importance of exports of Afghanistan home products, President Ghani said that figures and problems of exports should be clarified and change in balance was important.
The country’s President while stressing on reviewing challenges facing exports asked the private sector to prepare a comprehensive analysis for Afghanistan exports.
After overall discussions, the high economic council meeting approved the respective strategy and stressed that work should be done on the strategy’s mechanism. President Ghani added that further coordination should be made between relevant ministries.
The meeting decided that a session should be held under the chairmanship of chief executive for implementation of the respective mechanism so principle ways were sought in this regard.
Afghanistan national exports strategy includes breeding production section and flexibility of private sector for high-quality products, providing employment and investment facility, increasing support in markets and strengthening capacity and maintaining peace through economic development.  In second part of the session, creating plan of big tax-payers office delivered by ministry of finance was discussed and approved after discussion. High Economic Council also discussed investment plan of Rawan Motors Company delivered by representative of the company to the session. After overall discussion, the meeting decided that further analysis should be done in this regard and the plan should be followed so that clear suggestions should be provided for decision-making.
