President Ghani praises Kazakh outgoing ambassador’s efforts for boosting mutual ties

 KABUL: The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held farewell meeting with the outgoing ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Afghanistan Bitimov Omirtay here in Gul Khana Palace on Thursday, a presidential statement said.
In a bid to commend and recognize the efforts made by Ambassador Omirtay during his mission in the realm of strengthening mutual economic, political and social relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan as well as providing the Afghan students with academic scholarships to pursue higher education in Kazakhstan, President Ghani awarded state medal of Ghazi Mir Masjidi Khan to Ambassador Omirtay, the statement added.
President Ghani appreciated Ambassador Omirtay’s accomplishments and services and wished him success in his future endeavors. He said that the Afghan-Kazakh relations have substantially been revived which have bound the two peoples together and have ushered in flourishing prosperity, the statement went on as saying.
Expressing happiness over the successful completion of his mission here in Afghanistan, Ambassador Omirtay said that he feels pleased having served in Afghanistan, working together with the Afghan people and government. He hoped that the trade and economic ties between the two countries will be ever expanded in the future, the presidential statement concluded.
According to another report, Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahudin Rabbani held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan, whose tenure has come to end in Kabul the other day.
At the outset, Foreign Minister Rabbani appreciated the tireless efforts of Bitimov in expanding the relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan and thanked him of the valuable cooperation of Kazakhstan in various areas such as supporting Afghanistan at the UN Security Council as well as provision of scholarships to Afghan students. Later in the meeting, Bitimov assured the Foreign Minister of the continuance of cooperation and support of Kazakhstan regarding Afghanistan’s regional economic approach and mentioned of the ease in the issuance of visa for Afghan traders as well as doubling the amount of exchange of goods between the two countries.
