Pomegranate flowers’ traditional poetry festival held in Kandahar
 KABUL: Acting minister of information and culture and deputy minister of cultural affairs, Mohammad Rasoul Bawari attended Pomegranate flowers’ poetry festival in Kandahar’s Aino Mina the other day.
The poetry festival was also attended by a number of government officials, including Kandahar governor Zalmai Weesa, provincial council head, poets, culturists and men of knowledge.
Opening the festival, Kandahar governor welcomed the participants, adding the province was center of peace, security, great culture and civilization.
The governor asked poets to play their important role and develop poets for the national unity and braveries and sacrifices of the Afghan Security forces.
President Ghani’s message on the occasion was read-out by the acting minister of information and culture, asking poets to include peace in their poems and invite people for unity.
Meanwhile Chief Executive’s message was read-out by acting director of Kandahar’s information and culture directorate, asking poets to consider national values and unity in their poems.
The festival was followed with traditional Kandahari music and poems of the poets in Kandahar Province.
