LEHC approves traders, investors’ safety, security committee

 KABUL: Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the Law Enforcement High Council (LEHC) has approved creation of a committee for safety and security of the country’s traders and investors, the Presidential Palace said in a statement Sunday.
 The meeting which was held at the Char Chanar Palace and attended by the General Attorney, Farid Hamidi and NDS Chief, Massum Stanekzai resolved that a committee should be created under the supervision of Second Vice-President with the membership of the relevant organs to provide security and safety for the traders and investors and seriously investigate the cases of kidnapping, said the statement.
Arm distribution license and distribution of unregistered simcards, the attorney general said have been behind the high level of kidnapping in the capital and provinces of the country, the statement said.
The country’s president, meanwhile said the safety committee and the justice and judicial institution should prioritize fighting kidnaping both in the capital Kabul and the provinces and that the issue arms distribution should also take place based on a specific norms to prevent repetition and increase in the level of crimes in the country.
