NSA Atmar, Wells discuss Afghanistan political, security situation
 KABUL: National Security Adviser (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar met US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs - Alice G. Wells the other day and discussed ongoing political and security situation of Afghanistan and the region, a statement said yesterday.
During the meeting both sides also discussed outcomes of Kabul Process and Tashkent Conferences and emphasized boosting of Peace process and fight against terrorism, the NSA press office said.
Meanwhile NSA Atmar said there were regional and global consensus for peace in Afghanistan, adding Afghan Forces to continue fighting terrorism and would eliminate the domestic and foreign terrorists that threatening security of the region and the world.
Supporting Afghan government’s policies and achievements, the US deputy assistance secretary emphasized on continued regional and global consensus for peace in Afghanistan.
According to another report, NSA Atmar met Ismatilla Irgashev, Uzbekistan special envoy to Afghanistan in his office yesterday.
Pointing to friendly ties between the two countries, NSA emphasized on joint mechanism for implementation of bilateral economic and political cooperation.
Uzbek envoy said he had travelled to Afghanistan to follow up the decisions made by the two presidents during Kabul Process and Tashkent conferences.
