Political, Jihadi leaders back talks with Pakistan

 KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met a number of jihadi leaders, political elders and representatives of the political parties at the presidential palace the other day, a statement said.
In series of his consultative meetings, President Ghani briefed the audience on peace process and state to state talks with Pakistan government, adding Afghanistan’s peace offer was enjoying national, regional and global support and has provided opportunity for peace in the country, the presidential statement added.
Sharing their thoughts, the political and Jihadi leaders praised state to state talks and called it on the benefit of the people and region. 
They also emphasized on continued consultations on national issues.
President Ghani said he was committed to consultations and would continue consultations with different segments of the society, including MPs, civil activists, media and women.
