President Ghani arrives in Khost, inaugurates development projects

 KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, accompanied by a number of ministers, arrived in southeastern Khost province on Monday morning, a presidential statement said.
Upon his arrival, President Ghani inaugurated a newly-built runway and laid the foundation stone of buildings for fire tinder and radar in the provincial airport. 
The president hoped the airport turn into main air route for the Loy Paktia region.
The president said his administration’s priority was to boost Khost province’s production and facilitate people with essential facilities, instructing the official in charge to do more for establishing of air corridor between Khost and Germany to export Pine nut of Loy Paktia.
The president also instructed the Ministry of Public Works to evaluate construction of highway along the Khost Airport to ease transportation of goods.
After the inauguration of the projects at the airport, President Ghani opened a power substation in the same province. With the completion of the project, 13,000 families will enjoy a reliable power facility.
