President Ghani appreciates Kandahar mayor’s services

President Ghani appreciates Kandahar mayor’s services
 KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday appreciated the services and plans of Eng. Rokhan Olasmal, the mayor of Kandahar City, a presidential statement said.
President Ghani gave away ‘first grade appreciation letter’ to Olasmal in recognition of his services and policies at a special ceremony.
Meanwhilea presidential decree read out by president’s advisor Asadullah Ghazanfar, saying Kandahar Mayor Eng. Rokhan Olasmal contributed his great efforts to the management, plans and policies of Kandahar Municipality.
The decree quoted President Ghani as saying that the Kandahar people, all Afghans and the president himself appreciated the services and contributions of the Kandahar Mayor.
The president said the historic apartment building of former Afghan King Ahmad Shah Abdali would be related to the Arg (the Presidential Palace) in agreement with the Abdali family and with the innovation of Kandahar mayor.The Omar Bin Khattab Grand Mosque in Kandahar city would be constructed under direct management of Olasmal, he said.
Pointing to Kandahar mayor’s plans and innovations, President Ghani thanked him for his achievements including fundamental construction of Ahmad Shahi Square.The president also stressed Kandahar should be converted into a center of science and knowledge, which was Ahmad Shah Abdali’s dream.
Meanwhile, Kandahar mayor Olasmal thanked the president for conferring him the first-grade appreciation letter.
“Your appreciation and efforts give strength to our morale and give us energy to offer better services,” he said.
Olasmal promised to work honestly for Kandahar’s people and the country in general, with the president’s support.
“The president approved all my essential plans on behalf of the Kandahar people and I specially thank him for that”, he concluded.
