MoIC statement on World Press Freedom Day
 KABUL: Releasing a statement on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, the Ministry of Information and Culture says human beings are freely created which the freedom of expression is the prove to such claim and that every person accepts or presents it with pleasure. “Social environment has proved that the freedom of expression with healthy and constructive thoughts leads to the development and expansion of the society. As much as freedom of expression is attractive and acceptable to that extent it is being protested or opposed,” the ministry’s statement added. The statement went on saying that those societies which see freedom of expression as personal interest would witness social unrests and turbulences.
“Afghan people has experienced and benefited the freedom of expression in last two decades and moving towards its institutionalizing.” The ministry statement added, saying government of Afghanistan, in particular President Ghani was supporting freedom of expression in the country. “Ministry of Information and Culture supports freedom of expression in line with the country’s law and on the basis of instructions of President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,” the statement concluded.
