NSA Atmar chairs joint govt., media committee’s emergency meeting

NSA Atmar chairs joint govt., media committee’s emergency meeting
 KABUL: The National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar chaired joint session of Government and Media committee here on Monday evening, a statement from the office of the national security council said yesterday.
During the meeting, the representatives of media and government’s security organs prayed for the souls of martyrs and extended their condolences to the Afghan nation, the statement added.
Representing the Media Organization’s Federation and Afghan media, Fahim Dashti presented journalists’ concerns and proposals to national security advisor, emphasizing on security of reporters and media outlets, continued support to families of those reporters martyred and ensuring security of journalistic centers, the statement added.
Pointing to concerns and demands of the journalists, NSA Atmar instructed the line security organs to do more for security of the media outlets and workers. He also emphasized on developing of a specific mechanism for continued supporting of the media victims.
NSA Atmar also assured scholarships to children of martyredjournalists, the statement concluded.
