 KABUL: Led by the Finance Ministry’s Costumes Revenues director, a committee with membership of the representatives from the ministry of information and culture, ministry of Telecommunication and ATRA administration, federation of Journalists Societies and Media and Da Power Supply Breshna Company to investigate the failure of media in paying the main taxes, BNA reported.
According to the agency, a meeting, chaired by Fazel Sancharaki, the Deputy Publication Minister of Information and Culture and attendance of the finance ministry’s representatives and other related organs to resolve that the whole media of the country should be informed to refer the ministry of finance to enjoy the contents of the decree issued by the president on the waiving off the taxes deficits, but paying their main taxes.
For this, the deputy minister in an interview the BNA correspondent said that under the decree of The Presidential Office, media were duty bound to refer to the moderate taxpayers’ department for settling their accounts and financial owing. The deputy minister warned that despite waiving off on the media owing and installment of their main taxes within seven years, if they avoided from settlement of their accounts, they will deprive from their work licenses.
“After passing 20 days there is no symptom of media to refer for the settlement of their accounts,” said Sancharaki warning they would legally be persuaded after announcing new notification.
The country’s media have to pay 500 million Afs through  fair processes of installments within seven years, which is a good privilege for them.
