Herat congregational mosque was established 850 years before in Timoryan kingdom and its one of the historical places of Afghanistan. Herat congregational mosque is the fifth historical place in world. For the first time Mohammad Ashraf Ghani President Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ordered to Ministry of Urban (MoU) to rehabilitated that mosque. Sayeed Zia Husaini advisor for(MoU) and responsible to reconstruction the historical places of Afghanistan said to The Kabul Times: rehabilitation congregational mosque Herat is one of the important projects of (MoU), without that they have 14 national projects for Darull Aman castle in Kabul province, Taj Big and Ziarat Gah Sakhi in Mazari Sharif, Saraj garden, Qasri Shahee and Amanullah Khan tomb in Nangarhar province. He added: Herat congregational mosque is one of the historical places of Afghanistan from two weeks technical team started its mapping and primary works, in first of Hamal they will start practical work. Historical places of Afghanistan have 100 – 300 years oldness and don’t have resistance towards earthquake. He farther said: the first step is studies and enumerators; second step is basic works and third step is interior and foreign decoration of the mosque. The workers team is Afghani, he added. He said about tiling fabricate of Herat province: “before Islam in Timoryan Kinship tiling was in Herat” fortunately during war decades we lost it but MoU will reconstruct the tiling project in Herat province. The cost of Herat congregational mosque reconstruction will pay from the MoU budget, approximately 3-4 Million USD. He said about future plan of (MoU): MoU wants to reconstruct all historical and religious places of Afghanistan; all the workers will be Afghans. They need 1000 civil engineers for repairing, decoration, tiling, and architects. Husaini emphasized: we live in a war turn country; due to war we lost our historical places, now our big challenges are lack of electricity and engineers for rehabilitation of historical places. We need the cooperation of government. Aria Rawifyan Chief for information and culture of Herat province said in connection: that mosque has decorated and consistence problems, lots of its tiles and coping destroyed due to war. We will rehabilitate all of them.
