CE returns home as Tajikistan Water Conference ends

KABUL: Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, leading a high-ranking delegation, has returned home after two days Water as “Sustainable Development” held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, his office said.

During his stay to that country, the CE spoke on behalf of Afghanistan at the Water International Conference and met with Imam Ali Rahman, the president of Tajikistan and some other high-ranking Tajik officials, said the statement.

The CE also met with Qurban Ali Birdiov, the Turkmen President and Mamnon Hussien the president of Pakistan, said the statement.

During his stay to Tajikistan, the CE signed an agreement on telecommunication, MoU on mines and a joint statement between the Afghan and Tajik authorities, said the statement.

Both sides also talked on expansion of mutual relations, strengthening economic, security, social, cultural, trade, transit and joint war on terrorism, said the statement.

At the end of his tour to Tajikistan, the CE also laid floral wreath at the King Ismael Samani’s minaret and visited Raghon Power Dam, the statement added.

During his visit to Tajikistan, the CE was convoyed by Minister of interior, Wais Barmak, Minister of Tele-Communication, Shahzad Gul Aryoubi, Deputy Political Minister of Foreign, Hekmat Khalil Karzai, Deputy to Water and Power Ministry, Mohammad Gul Khulmi and other high-ranking officials.
