President Ghani congratulates Imran khan on election victory

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Tahreek-i-Insaf leader Imran Khan and congratulated him on victory in the country’s parliamentary elections, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
The two sides agreed to overcome the past and lay a new foundation for a prosperous political, social and economic future of both countries,the statement added.
Hinting to shared history of the two nations, Imran Khan vowed to work hard for strengthening of bilateral ties. He also hoped to visit Kabul soon and closely discuss the issues with officials.
Considering Imran Khan’s will to visit Kabul, President Ghani officially extended invitation to him, which PTI leader accepted and wished to visit soon.
