CE Abdullah holds prayer ceremony for Late Gen. Abdul Razeq in Kandahar

KABUL: Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, chairing a high level delegation traveled to the southern province of Kandahar, where he held a prayer ceremony for the late Gen. Abdul Razeq, a statement from his office said the other day.
The CE also laid floral wreath at the tomb of Gen. Razeq, the provincial former police chief who was martyred in a gunfire from a Taliban infiltrator, after a big security meeting in the province, according to the statement.
After laying floral wreath at the tomb of the late Gen. Razeq, the CE and his led delegation, including his First Deputy, Haj Mohammad Muhaqqeq and a number of the provincial council members and prominent Jihadi commanders, went to the Mandigak Palace, where he extended his deep condolence to the bereaved family and friends of Late Gen. Abdul Razeq.
He called the incident in which Gen. Razeq was martyred, a big tragedy for all the people of the country and added that late Razeq devoted his life for security, unity and peace, the statement added.
“Prayer ceremonies were held by the people all over the country, even prisoners in some provinces mourned at him and took prayed for his soul,” said the CE adding this was a common tragedy and his martyrdom clearly highlighted unity of the whole Afghan tribes.
Dr. Abdullah said he wished to carry the coffin of Late Gen. Razeq, but failed as the sensitive condition didn’t allow him to reach the goal, the statement said.
He said the target, address and hideouts of Gen. Abdul Razeq’s killers were clear and that the Afghans shouldn’t miss the main perpetrator because of the enemy’s current conspiracies and propaganda.
