Women role important in Afghanistan stability, President Ghani

KABUL: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with a number of Helmand provincial women representatives and the provincial women director, Qamar Neyazai and called women role in the country’s stability very important, a statement from the Presidential Palace said Sunday.
Challenges and problems facing women in the province were shared with the president who pledged to do more for them and said that a countrywide women Jirga would be held to discuss the women problems as their role, he believed was very significant in the stability of the country.
According to the statement, the president promised to build safe-shelter for women in the province and follow all their suggestions. The president instructed the provincial governor for providing a list of those women who were able to work at the provincial level and country. According to another report, the president, at the sideline of his trip to Helmand province met with a number of youth and pledged to use all means possible to do for their empowerment.
“I stand by the youths’ will and would use what is in my power for their empowerment and for employment in the Afghanistan administrations,” the country’s president pledged. According to the president, all possibilities have been taken in mind for upgrading Helmand to first level and that a standard administrative complex budget has been finalized for the province.
