NSA praises Uzbekistan’s cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields

KABUL: Afghanistan National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Muhib met yesterday with Uzbekistan Special Representative for Afghanistan Ismatullah Irgashev.
In the meeting, both sides discussed security situation, maintaining peace and stability, economic development, trade and transit issues.
Afghanistan NSA praised Tashkent for cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields in particular peace, economic, trade and transit sections.
The Uzbek special representative for Afghanistan Irgashev said that Uzbekistan was in touch with the Taliban group for maintaining peace and stability in Afghanistan, stressing that a delegate of his country would visit Pakistan to pass the Afghan officials’ suggestions to Pakistani officials so that the country could honestly cooperate with Afghanistan in peace process and exert pressures on armed Taliban group.
According to Uzbekistan special representative for Afghanistan, Uzbekistan is ready to provide facility for producing military outfits in Uzbek’s textile factories.
He also asked for the implementation of security plan of Mazar-Herat railway and acceleration of works on Surkhan-Pul-e-Khumri electricity extension project.
Irgashev further said that Uzbekistan wanted to launch new railway route to China through Kazakhstan and by completion of the project Afghanistan would get further facilitations in trade and transit fields.
He added that Uzbekistan would provide Afghanistan $500 assistance for implementation of electricity projects, assuring of his country’s continued assistance to Afghanistan.
