Kabul head of Ulema Council shot dead

KABUL: Head of Ulema Council for Kabul, Abdul Basir Haqqani, was shot dead in the city on Saturday.
Haqqani, who had outspoken stance against the insurgents,was killed by two gunmen on motorcycle in Police District 7 of the city, the source said. The attackers fled after the assassination.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. It comes four days after a suicide bomber targeted a religious ceremony in Kabul, killing at least 55 people and wounding nearly a hundred.
