VP Danesh chairs laws committee’s exclusive session

KABUL: Chaired by Vice President Sarwar Danesh, laws committee’s exclusive meeting was held yesterday.
In the meeting, draft regulation of salaries of members of academic cadres within the Ministry of Higher Education and draft regulation of private higher education institutions were discussed.
First, draft regulation of salaries of academic cadres’ members within the ministry of higher education, provided based on 35th article of law on higher education, was delivered by officials of the ministry of higher education.
Paying salaries of members of the academic cadres and improvement of their livelihood condition, building capacity and ability of higher education institutions in absorption of merit academic cadres, prevention from escaping members of academic cadres, encouragement of members of academic cadres to management cadres of the institutions and enhancement of the level of responsibility and enthusiasm of the members in academic affairs are principal goals of the draft.
After overall discussion in connection with the draft regulation of salaries of members of academic cadres for higher education, the meeting concluded that salaries of all academic cadres within the ministry of higher education should be paid equally.
The meeting also decided that authorized representatives of MoHE, MoJ, MoF and Afghanistan Universities Lecturers’ Union within the MoHE should review the meeting’s discussions and deliver to cabinet meeting after increasing suggestions of members of the meeting.
Meanwhile, draft regulation of private higher education institutions was also delivered by officials of the ministry of higher education. The draft has been prepared based on ninth article of law on higher education.
