Women’s handicrafts exhibition opened

KABUL: Ministry of Information and Culture’s tourism department and gender directorate held a handicrafts exhibition in Babur Shah Trade Center in Kabul on Tuesday, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.
During the exhibition, deputy minister of finance, administrative and tourism, Associate Prof. Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi briefed about women handicrafts’ importance in their families’ economy, according to the agency.
Pointing at wide dimensions of violence against women, she said women empowerment was one of the ways to put an end to this challenge, which is why the ministry of information and culture has prepared the ground for holding such an exhibition where the women can sell their hand-made products.
MoIC’s gender director, Mahbouba Saadat also talked about violence against women and said this year the day was marked under slogan of ‘Listen, End Violence Against Women and Girls’.
