FM meets EU parliament delegation

KABUL: Acting minister of foreign affairs met yesterday with European parliament delegation to Afghanistan.
In the meeting, acting minister of foreign affairs Salahuddin Rabbani briefed related to second round of the three-way meeting held Saturday in Kabul between Afghanistan, Pakistan and China, peace and regional connectivity.
EU parliament delegation by recalling efforts and achievements made in connection with counter corruption in Afghanistan asked the government for serious fighting corruption in the country.
Acting minister of foreign affairs by praising EU for assistance to Afghanistan and hosting the first Geneva conference on Afghanistan considered peace as the only way for solution of disputes in Afghanistan, stressing on the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
The acting minister of foreign affairs also insisted on serious counter corruption effort, adding corruption was mostly harming the people of Afghanistan first.
Both sides discussed counter narcotics, refugees and repatriates, economic development, rule of law and presidential elections.
