Dr. Abdullah praises US efforts for peace in Afghanistan

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with US state department’s special envoy on the Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad on Sunday morning in Kabul, a statement said. Khalilzad briefed Dr. Abdullah on his visits from regional and world countries as well as developments on the peace process, the statement from the CE office added.
Dr. Abdullah thanked Khalilzad and US efforts for peace in Afghanistan, saying peace and ending the 40 years of war was the main priority for Afghans.
During the meeting which was also attended by US ambassador to Kabul, Dr. Abdullah emphasized on Afghan-led and owned peace talks.
