Badghis, Jauzjan IDPs’ problems reviewed

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah thoroughly reviewed Badghis and Jauzjan provinces Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) problems in the High Commission to Counter Natural Disasters meeting held on Tuesday, BNA reported.
CE Abdullah instructed the ministry of refugees and repatriates to take urgent steps on settlement of those IDPS living in Qala-e-Naw, Badghis province, because, their area is expected to face with floods, the agency further said.
The ministry of refugees and repatriates reported that a special budget has been approved to provide the refugees and IDPs with lands and work on its contract is ongoing.
CE Abdullah also instructed the ministries of natural disasters management, rural rehabilitation, refugees and repatriates to thoroughly review the tasked delegation report on Jauzjan IDPs and refugees.
Almost 80000 families in Jauzjan are claiming that they have not been provided with any food assistances so far.
The ministry of natural disasters management reported that this year, Afgs, 19 mln cash, 335 tons of wheat, foodstuff and non-food items have been assisted to 5000 families.
The meeting decided to take necessary measures on addressing Jauzjan province’s refugees and IDPs problems.
