Delegation should urgently be dispatched to Herat, Minister Safi

KABUL: Chaired by acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi, an emergency meeting was held to discuss regarding prevention from fully collapsing a minaret in Herat.
In the meeting, deputy minister of art and culture for information and culture Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawary briefed related to current condition of Herat’s minaret, saying that one of the minarets was leaning from its real position and would possibly collapse due to recent rainfalls.
Afterwards, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi said that a delegation should be urgently dispatched to Herat to overall review the situation.
Safi also said that UNESCO office to Afghanistan should be soon contacted and the issue should be addressed in cooperation with relevant experts and organizations. In the meeting, it was decided that financial expenses needed should be soon shared with ministry of finance.
