KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke during introducing ceremony of his senior advisor on public and strategic relations Wahid Omar, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
The ceremony held in Chahar Chenar Palace and attended by a number of high ranking government officials, media and civil society representatives, according to the statement.
At the outset, senior presidential advisor on cultural affairs Asadullah Ghazanfar read out the presidential decree on appointment of Wahid Omar.
Afterwards, the president wished paradise to those martyred in terror attacks in Helmand and Kandahar provinces and immediate recovery to those injured.
Congratulating Wahid Omar on assuming office, the president wished him success in all working aspects, adding the law on access to information should be formed and applied in cooperation and coordination with all, the statement added.
He added this year will be the year of development, peace and democracy.
‘As heart of Asia, Afghanistan should change into moving and connecting heart. We should not look at foreigners as strangers but partners and foreign policy should not be reactive and sentimental, but stand on cooperation,’ the president said.
He stressed that ordinary projects should be supported through national budget for two years, adding during marking Afghanistan’s 100th Independence Day and 1000th anniversary of Dari language, cultural values should be linked to independence and development.
He added villages, districts, municipalities and provinces’ representatives will share their views on peace process during Peace Consultative Loya Jirga.
Later on, while thanking the president Wahid Omar said he would not spare any efforts in performing his responsibilities.
