“We welcome Uzbekistan peace efforts on Afghanistan,” CE

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov at Sapidar Palace, his office said in a statement.
According to the statement, welcoming Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, CE Abdullah appreciated the country’s efforts to restore peace in Afghanistan.
“Uzbekistan is making effort on implementation of regional connectivity plans and to enhance trade ties between the two countries,” Kamilov said.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov also said his country supported peace talks and was ready to host talks between the Afghan government and Taliban.
Both sides also exchanged views on Afghanistan’s regional relations, regional countries’ role on achieving lasting peace and fighting insurgency.
