UN vows continued support to Afghanistan

KABUL: Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sideline of World Economic Forum in Jordon yesterday morning, a statement from CE press office said.
Thanking UN support of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah briefed the secretary general on situation in Afghanistan, including security, peace process and elections.
He also said that Afghan government was committed to bring about reforms and reach sustainable peace and praised US role in Afghanistan reconciliation, the statement added.
Thanking Dr. Abdullah, Secretary General Guterres said UN would remain alongside Afghan people and committed to continue its humanitarian assistance, the statement added.
