NPC approves 19 contracts worth 2.76 billion Afghanis

KABUL: National Procurement Commission with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair held session here the other day and reviewed 19 procurement related contracts worth 2.76 billion Afghanis, a statement from the presidential press office said yesterday.
The commission approved contract for reconstruction of Archi Canal in Kunduz related to the ministry of water and energy as well as contract of strategic development framework of five cities related to ministry of urban development and land.
The commission also discussed and approved foodstuffs contract related to ministry of national defense’s border and civil order forces and provision of 106 medical items related to ministry of interior, the statement added.
“The commission approved two proposal for provision of two types of oil and 13 items of communication for technical and transportation departments of President’s Chief of Staff office as well as procurement of two types of oil for the local organ office,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the meeting also discussed and approved extension of contract with UNESCO for technical cooperation in protection of Mes-e-Aynak historical site related to ministry of information and culture and contract for procurement of required oil related to Afghan Telecom Company. The session also approved the project for reconstruction of buildings and asphalting of roads in Farah city related to ministry of transport.
The National Procurement Authority briefed the session on signing of five contracts for provision of poultry, rice, dairy and apples from domestic resources for ministries of interior and national defense for the year of 1398, saying the contracts were signed between the ministries of agriculture, national defense and interior and poultry association of Afghanistan.
The commission also approved central statistics office proposal for purchasing of 650 biometric systems and ministry of water and energy’s proposal of the project for production of plastic and metal pipes.
The session continued with proposals of the ministries of interior and national defense for changes in prices of the contracts on procurement of bread to 101 Asmayee Zone and foodstuffs related to ministry of defense.
The session concluded with approving the contract on extension of the deadline of the project related to asphalting of Khwajah Bahauddin-Yangi Qala road related to ministry of transport. The session instructed the ministry to provide details on the extension of the project.
