Czech Republic to build electricity dam in Kunar

KABUL: Continuing its assistance for infrastructural development in Afghanistan, Czech Republic signed a contract with Afghan Women Capacity Building Institution based in Kunar here on Thursday.
The project worth 20 thousand USD and would be funded by the Czech Republic. The project would produce 7 KW electricity and would benefit 250 families in Charaki village of Khas Kunar district of Kunar Province.
While signing the contract, Czech Ambassador to Kabul Petr Stepanek said that his country assisted Afghanistan in areas of education and recently supported a female school in Kabul. “We have also funded two bridges in Kunar as part of our welfare projects.”
Meanwhile deputy to Afghan Women Capacity Building Institution Arezo Nezam praised Czech’s assistance to Afghanistan and asked the country’s ambassador to pay a visit to the province and closely monitor the implementation of the project.
The Czech Republic Ambassador vowed that his country would continue its supports to Afghanistan.
