‘International community to support holding timely presidential elections’

KABUL: Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with foreign ambassadors to Kabul and representatives of UNAMA, Resolute Support mission and EU at Sapidar palace.
In the meeting, representatives of UNAMA and foreign countries supporting the country’s elections process shared their visions, suggestions and concerns over Afghanistan presidential elections.
They stressed that they would support holding timely and transparent elections in the country.
After hearing visions and suggestions of participants in the meeting, chief executive by praising the international community for supporting the elections process stressed that the people of Afghanistan believed in selection of their destiny through elections.
Stressing also on holding timely and transparent elections, the country’s chief executive said that visions and concerns of the international partners would be discussed in government level and necessary decisions would be made after consultations and debates in this regard.
In the meeting, second vice president also praised the international community for supporting the country’s process, stressing on holding timely elections.
