Minister Safi stresses further attention to preservation of historical monuments

KABUL: Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi in a meeting with officials of the ministry’s cultural section stressed on further attention to preservation and maintenance of the country’s historic monuments.
In the meeting attended also by deputy minister of art and culture Prof. Mohammad Rasul Bawary and director of preservation and restoration of historical monuments Abdul Ahad Abasi, financial and technical issues in connection with preservation of the country’s monuments and absorption of international organizations’ assistance were discussed. In the meeting, emergency budget was asked for restoration and preservation of the country’s historical monuments as the ministry cannot afford to do so. Acting minister of information and culture stressed that ways and possibilities should be sought to prevent from possible destruction of historical monuments and further attention should be paid to preservation of the monuments.
