India stresses negotiations to end war in Afghanistan

KABUL: The High Peace Council Secretary Mohammad Umar Daudzai has held a meeting with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and discussed Afghan peace process and regional consensus on peace process, according to a statement on Friday. Doval believed the best way to resolve Afghan conflict was direct Afghan government and Taliban talks. Daudzai, who is also President Ghani’s special envoy for regional consensus on peace, stressed over the importance of India’s role in Afghan peace process and added peace process was being headed by Afghan government. Doval stressed that Afghan conflict could not be resolved through armed fighting and stressed over dialogue.
