Czech Embassy, ETWA sign MoU on election cooperation

KABUL: Czech Ambassador to Kabul Petr Stepanek and Program Manager of Election & Transparency Watch Organization of Afghanistan (ETWA) Habibullah Shinwary signed a Memorandum of Understanding on election affairs here yesterday at the embassy premise in Kabul.
According to Ambassador Stepanek, the MoU signed to boost the capacities of civil institutions, to create opportunities and build capacities of provincial council candidates, in particular women, so that to further persuade candidates and people to participate in the democratic process.
Czech Republic has supported Afghanistan in different spheres, including holding of election awareness programs in Kunar, Kapisa and Nangarhar provinces as well as implementation of development projects. The county has also equipped a hospital in Parwan province.
