IEC shares proposals with Govt. and International Community representatives

KABUL: A meeting chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani was held at the Presidential Palace, a statement from the Presidential Press Office said Wednesday.
Representatives from the European Union (EU), UNAMA and the embassies financing the Afghan electoral process have attended the meeting, said the statement.
Chairman and members of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) shared their proposals with the representatives about the upcoming elections and what the process needs, according to the statement.
The country’s president assured the electoral bodies that the government was ready for providing security, technical and logistic cooperation to have a transparent and inclusive process and gave instructions to the related organs to spare no effort in this respect, the statement added.
Likewise, the international community assured the commission of providing cooperation for a timely holding election process in the country, the statement said.
