Dr. Abdullah, UNAMA Chief discuss peace, upcoming elections

KABUL: Chief Executive (CE) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met Tadamichi Yamamoto, UN Special Representative for Afghanistan and UNAMA Chief at the Sapidar Palace yesterday, a statement said.
UN envoy briefed the Chief Executive on his recent trip to New York and addressing the UN Security Council debate on Afghanistan, the statement from the Chief Executive Press Office said.
Praising UN assistance to Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah thanked Yamamoto’s efforts, the statement added.
Two sides also discussed ongoing situation, including peace process and upcoming presidential elections, according to the statement.
