By: The Kabul Times

Freedom of speech is among the government and people of Afghanistan’s achievements. The government of national unity has always been making effort to protect freedom of speech and prepare the ground for its growth.
Through establishing ‘Media and Government Joint Committee’ and approval of journalists’ safety procedure, the government has done much to ensure security of journalists, media offices and activities in the country and would spare no effort in this regard.
Threatening and attacking freedom of speech and media is in contrary with human and Islamic values.
This is while, the Taliban have recently issued a threat message to all of the country’s operational media, to target journalists broadcasting what they described government propaganda against them.
