The muslim Afghan people who consist of different tribes and ethnic groups enjoy various traditions and celebrate Eid. Factors including urban and rural traditions and family economies play key role in these celebrations and people mark Eid according to their economic capacity and ruling traditions and culture.

Rich and well-to-do families purchase expensive clothes to their members to display their economic potential while unfortunately majority of rural residents who are poor and affected with economic problems, don’t affored.
Children and teenagers visit elders, congratulate their Eid and expect them to pay the Eid gift in cash or kind like dried fruits.
In some places, people attend recreational areas and celebrate Eid there.
With approaching of Eid, those who are engaged, prepare gifts to the girl’s family that depends upon their economic potential and includes a sheep, clothes, jewelries, fruits both fresh and dried and take them to bride’s house. Reciprocally, the bride’s family also prepare somethings including boiled eggs, candy, cookies etc to groom family.
The groom personally goes to his father-in-law’s house with a batch of flower, candy, chocolates and present to his fiancé’s.
Qurban (Sacrifice) is symbol of muslims’ devotion before their Allah. Muslims observe tradition of their Great Prophet Hazrat-Ibrahim (PBUH) as a big ordeal. They perform Qurbani (Sacrifice) after Eid Prayer. A number of muslims fast in Arafa and break it on the first day of Eid with meat of Qurbani.
