President Ghani chairs security meeting

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired the security meeting attended by defense and security sectors’ officials, a statement from the Presidential Press Office said Wednesday.
In the meeting, the security and defense officials presented reports about their plans onthe security of the capital Kabul during the election and the country’s 100th independence anniversary, the statement said.
The president, after hearing the security and defense officials reports asked them for taking full security of the Kabul city and said the people concerns should be removed, the statement added.
The meeting assessed positive the last night’s security operations in three parts of the capital, during which several centers of the Daesh terrorist group was eliminated, the statement continued.
The president asked the security officials for doing more in removal of the enemy threats and foiling their destructive plots, particularly during the election and the country’s 100th independence anniversary and most importantly when the government of Afghanistan is practicing a roadmap for peace.
