‘Regional consensus vital for peace in Afghanistan’

KABUL: In a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Aleksandr Mantytsky, Dr. Hamdullah Mohib, the country’s National Security Advisor called the role of the regional countries very important in peace process success in Afghanistan, a statement from his office said Wednesday.
The country’s National Security Advisor also called Russia one of the countries could do its best for the Afghan peace process and said Russia’s cooperation in this field was important, the statement said.
At the meeting both sides spoke about the ongoing peace process and Dr. Mohib said: “Not only the regional countries but the close neighboring countries can help and play their role in the success of the process.”
Both sides also spoke about continuation of relation between Afghanistan and Russia, said the statement.
