Security organs’ financial management plan assessed

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with deputy ministers of defense and interior reviewed overall plan of security organs’ financial management to save in expenses and prevent from losing the resources.
 In the meeting held yesterday at Presidential Palace, the country’s President while hearing the saving report of the  budget of MoI and MoD for 2020 fiscal year said unprecedented savings in expenses of the country’s security and defense organs particularly in fuel, meal and unnecessary equipment and contracts have occurred, stressing on providing a standard financial system to effectively follow the expenses.
President Ghani asserted that the plan for the budget and saving has been prepared based on goals of the respective organs, stressing that further attention should be paid to prevention of losing resources and fighting corruption in the respective organs.
Pointing to structures inflation in the country’s defense and security organs, the country’s President instructed to officials of the respective organs to review the organs’ structures and prevent inflation.
President Ghani also said that an overall assessment should be done from all military bases, equipment and vehicles in districts level to find a clear image in this regard, adding that shortcomings and needs should be clarified based on the assessment.
The country’s President stressed on protection and maintenance of military bases, equipment and vehicles and instructed relevant officials to prepare a regular plan and program for the protection and maintenance of bases, equipment and vehicles of the country’s ANDSF.
